What we collect

• Account: your email address or phone number (for sign-in codes) or your Google account name and email, and the name and handle you choose.
• Profile: photo, bio, voice bio, links and any information you add to your personal, RAVI or organisation profile.
• Content you create: videos, podcasts, books, articles, courses, comments, reviews, messages, Workshop files, notes and booklets.
• Learning activity: what you watch or read, progress, quiz results, flashcards and saved items, so the app can track your learning.
• Device permissions: the microphone and camera are used only when you start a recording, voice note, meeting or scan. Nothing is recorded in the background.
• Technical data: security and error logs (time, page, error message) kept to keep the service working and safe.

We do not use advertising trackers or sell personal data.

How we use it

• To run your account and show your content to the people you share it with.
• To build study tools (summaries, transcripts, quizzes, flashcards, booklets, translations) from the lessons you open. This text is processed by AI models run by our providers and is not used by us to train models.
• To send sign-in codes and service notifications.
• To prevent abuse, fix errors and keep backups.

Who processes data for us

• Cloudflare — hosting, media storage, AI processing.
• Appwrite Cloud (Frankfurt, EU) — accounts and database.
• Google — only if you choose Google sign-in, and AI processing if enabled for study tools.
• Public content (YouTube, Spotify and similar) is loaded from those services when you open it.

What others can see

Content you publish as public, your public profile and your reviews can be seen by others and by search engines. Private and room content is shown only to its members. You choose this when you publish.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, content, learning activity and messages are deleted from the live service; copies in encrypted backups are removed within 90 days.

Your rights

You can view and edit your information in the app, download your content, and delete your account at any time in Settings. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, a correction or deletion by writing to universalschoolapp@gmail.com.

Children

Universal School is for learners aged 13 and over. Younger learners may use it only with a parent, guardian or school that manages their use.

Changes

If this policy changes in an important way, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
